HO'OMANA · The Hawaiian Path

Ho'omana.

The ancient Hawaiian science of mind, energy & mastery — the teachings often called Huna.

A living tradition carried through the Bray-James lineage — 28 generations of Hawaiian kahuna entrusting the practices of energy work, healing, and spiritual development to those who would carry them forward. This is not theory borrowed from books. This is direct transmission.

The Path of Ho'omana

In the Hawaiian tradition, ho'omana means to empower — literally, to make mana. Mana is the vital life force that flows through all living things, equivalent to chi in the Chinese tradition or kundalini in Sanskrit. The original name of Huna is Ho'omana — the art of empowering through mana.

The teachings in this school come through the Bray family lineage — Daddy Bray, Pappa Bray, Uncle George Na'ope, Tad James, Matt James — a 28-generation Hawaiian tradition carefully guarded through suppression and entrusted forward to those who carry it. This is a direct transmission of energy, healing, and spiritual development, not a modernized repackaging.

At its foundation: the understanding that the conscious mind (Lono), the unconscious mind (), and the higher self (Kāne, Aumakua) must be brought into alignment for true healing and empowerment to occur. When these three selves are in harmony, mana flows freely — and transformation becomes your natural state.

ALOHA

Daddy Bray taught the word Aloha as a five-letter transmission — each letter a Hawaiian virtue, each virtue a way of being. Five thresholds to the same quality of presence.

A — Ala Watchful, alertness

The quality of being awake, aware, attentive. In the Bray teaching, Ala was named as a pathway to increased consciousness — the first virtue because it is the one that sees all the others.

L — Lōkahi Working with unity

Harmony in action. Lōkahi is how we return to the oneness that is our true nature — self, family, land, lineage — held in a single breath.

O — ʻOiaʻiʻo Truthful honesty

The true truth. Not only accurate speech but congruence — between what is known, what is said, and what is done.

H — Haʻahaʻa Humility

The low posture of one who knows what they do not know. Haʻahaʻa is the ground where real learning takes root.

A — Ahonui Patient perseverance

Long breath. The endurance of one who stays with what matters until the work is done — and returns again tomorrow.

Aloha, so taught, is not a greeting. It is a discipline — and a way to recognize the presence of another.
